Our Vision

The project's vision is to develop a well-integrated Interprovincial Electricity grid which is Indigenous-led ensuring energy security and independence to the First Nation communities as well as the country.

Project Objectives

Aims to advance Indigenous energy sovereignty and foster long-term community led energy projects through electronic learning platform, enhancing capacity building, regulatory innovation, and energy leadership

Community Engagement

Identify First Nation (FN) communities across turtle island aiming towards Stakeholder Engagement and participation in the project through workshops and seminars.

What We're Building

The Indigenous Energy Exchange (IEX) SuperGrid is an innovative capacity-building & regulatory advocacy initiative led by Taykwa Tagamou Nation, a Mushkegowuk Cree community from Northern Ontario (Treaty 9), designed to empower Indigenous communities across turtle island to develop a Borderless SuperGrid and lead the Energy Transition.

3 Electronic learning modules on Renewable Project Development, Regulatory Framework and IEX + certification from Indigenous Advanced Education & Skills Council (IAESC)

Capacity Building

Capacity-building initiatives for Indigenous communities across Canada

In-Person Workshop

In-person workshop with at least 10-15 First Nation communities in TTN

Regulatory Advocacy

Regulatory Assessment and advocacy efforts toward Indigenous led Interprovincial transmission projects
